The effect of hydrogen additives on fuel consumption and hydrocarbon emissions in gasoline fuelled Wankel rotary engine

Experimental data for Wankel rotary engine performance on hydrogen blends with hydrocarbon fuel is presented. Researches are performed partial loads and idle. Hydrogen mass fraction additions to the mixture didn’t exceed at 5% idle mode 9%. The excess air ratio was stoichiometric. It shown that (20% of full load) speed 2000 per minute addition yields 4.2% decrease brake specific consumption (hydrogen converted gasoline computed proportionally their combustion heats ratio). Amount unburned hydrocarbons conditions mentioned reduces in a factor 1.8 emission carbon monoxide 2.3. notably increase effective leaning limit, thus tests showed steady even 1.16, while absence instability displayed itself exceeding 0.95.
